C. arabiensis (Boorman 1989)

(Boorman 1989: 173. Description, ♂, ♀, figs)

Diagnosis and Notes

This is a small yellowish-brown species without any very obvious distinguishing features, the radial cells slightly darkened. There are vague pale areas over the cross-vein, just beyond the second radial cell, and towards the outer parts of cells m1 and cu; these are most easily seen under dark field illumination. The female AR is 1.06-1.23; the SD is 3-10 and there are two or three small cibarial teeth. The male genitalia have the parameres with five to seven large teeth; the aedeagus is triangular with the central portion terminating in a bunch of brush-like bristles. The ventral roots of the basistyles are foot-shaped, the ninth sternite membrane bare. The male is very similar to C. azerbajdzhanicus, but in that species the brush of the aedeagus is separated from the rest of the central portion by a sclerotised bar.
The figures of the male genitalia and the cibarial teeth are from Boorman (1989); the wing is not illustrated.
