Diagnosis and Notes
The wings are pale, unmarked; the
female has the palps swollen with a deep, rounded sensory pit as in other
related species. The female AR is 1.06-1.18; the SD is 3-10. Two or three
small cibarial teeth are present. The female also has two spermathecae with a
conical ring on the duct; in C. ravus, an Afrotropical species found
with azerbajdzhanicus in some
localities, the ring on the duct is mushroom-shaped. The male genitalia are
as shown; the ventral root of the basistyle foot-shaped, the ninth sternite
membrane bare, the parameres with six or seven long teeth. The central part
of the aedeagus has a terminal brush, with a sclerotised bar at the base.
The figure of the male genitalia is from Boorman (1989); the wing is not
illustrated.
