Diagnosis and Notes
A medium-sized species which could easily be mistaken for festivipennis, but differs from that species as follows. The pale spot in cell r5 is comet-shaped, the “tail” extending along the costa towards the second radial cell; the mesonotum pale brown without dark markings (sometimes two faint rounded brown spots in front of the scutellum); and, most importantly, the female antennae with sensilla on 3,11-15 only. The female AR is 1.39-1.53; the SD is 3, 11-15.The male genitalia are almost identical to those of festivipennis.
The figures are from Kremer (1966).
