Diagnosis and Notes
A small yellowish midge with unmarked
wings; the female AR is 1.0-1.35, and the SD is 3, 5-14. The male is unusual
in that the antenna has a much reduced plume, with sensilla as in the female.
The male genitalia are distinctive, the ninth tergite tapering posteriorly
and with a deep median cleft; the aedeagus triangular, the parameres short
and joined at their base, the ninth sternite membrane spiculate.
The figure of the male genitalia is from Boorman (1989), the wing is not
illustrated.
