Diagnosis and Notes
The wings are greyish with prominent rounded pale spots; the second radial cell wholly within the second costal spot, and the pale spots at the tips of cells r5, m1 and m2 are cut by the wing margin. AR 1.64-1.73; SD 3-15. In the male, the ninth sternite membrane is bare. It is very like griseidorsum, which has antennal sensilla on 3-14; and also like saevanicus, in which the two spots in the anal cell are only narrowly separated by a darker band. It differs from univittatus in that the marginal pale spots are cut by the wing margin. It could also easily be mistaken for poperinghensis, but this has the second radial cell only partly pale, the wing spots less well defined, and the female SD 3,11-15.
The figure of the wing is from Edwards (1939) and of the male genitalia from Glukhova (1989).
