Ceratopogon sordidellus
Zetterstedt 1838. 820. TL Greenland
(Wirth, Dyce & Peterson 1985: 11. Notes)
(Szadziewski 1986: 62. Redescription., figs)
Diagnosis and Notes
The wings are brownish and weakly marked
as shown; the second radial cell pale. It was redescribed by Szadziewski
(1986); the type lacks the last three flagellomeres. The figure is of a very
weakly marked specimen; it is usually more heavily marked, resembling grisescens
closely. It is a large species (wing length 2.54 mm) which belongs to the
cockerelli group of the subgenus;
the female AR is 0.65 and the SD is 3, 11-15.
I cannot find any reference to the male, although it must have been
described. The figure is from Szadziewski (1989).
