Diagnosis and Notes
The wing dark with extensive pale spots
as in the figure; the second radial cell with just the tip in a pale spot.
The eyes are hairy, and both mandibles and maxillae have reduced teeth; the
third palp segment short and swollen with a single sensory pit. The male
genitalia as shown; the parameres joined at their base and resembling a pair
of sharp-pointed scissors, the ninth sternite membrane bare.
The figure of the wing is from McDonald, Bolinguit & Lu (1973); that of
the male genitalia from Kitaoka (1973) (as chaetocellaris).
